Just a few dog years ago Hamiltonian housewife and mother of three, Colette Kendall, tucked her young children into bed and made her stand-up comedy debut.  Despite the lack of a theatrical background, as a 40th birthday present to herself Colette wrote, produced and performed in her own one woman show. Today, she continues to tour across Canada to rave reviews and sold out houses with her full length solo productions Tippi Seagram’s Happy Hour, Who’s Afraid of Tippi Seagram, The Cockwhisperer- A Love Story and Clit Wit!- A Feminist Rude Awakening.

In addition to being a veteran of the Fringe Festival circuit, Colette is a frequent guest performer at spoken word and storytelling events. She has been nominated three times for the Canadian Comedy Award for Best One Person Show, has received a Georgia Straight’s Critic’s Pick Award and has been honoured by the City of Hamilton with the Arts Award for Established Theatre Artist.

Colette trained in improvisation with The Second City before going on to become a cast member of  Staircase Theatre Improv, The Bad Dog Theatre Company and Impatient Theatre Mainstage.  She has performed stand-up comedy as a headline act and as an emcee, was a top 10 Finalist in the Canada-Wide, Corner Gas Comic Genius Contest and a semi-finalist in The Y108 FM Casting Couch. Her passion for live theatre and dedicated work ethic lead to a career highlight when she was cast alongside Laverne and Shirley’s, Cindy Williams and Three’s Company’s, Joyce DeWitt in the Stage West production of The Vagina Monologues in Toronto.

Colette has appeared in several award winning independent films including the 2009 Sundance Festival official selection, Ten for Grandpa. Most notably Colette appeared as Mrs. Stone in the HBO/ JuliaRoberts produced feature film, Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, opposite Julia Ormond and a star studded cast.

In addition to maintaining a busy preforming schedule Colette is Executive Director of  The Staircase Theatre in Hamilton Ontario, programming more than 100 arts and community events per month and hosting one of the largest Fringe BYOV venues in Canada with 3 unique performance spaces and a licensed cafe/restaurant.

Colette is happiest when performing her own work and is excited in 2018 to be launching an extensive cross-country tour performing her smash hit The Cockwhisperer... A Love Story and the brand new Clit Wit!  A Feminist Rude Awakening.
